5th Class were learning about Natural Disasters in their English last week so they completed this collaborative project to further their learning. Each child researched a natural disaster that has occurred and wrote a report on it. 4th Class were read the story 'Deirdre of the Sorrows' this week. They furthered their learning by looking up other Irish legends and writing about them in this collaborative presentation. Tomás even submitted his to RTE and it got broadcast on Home School Hub for the whole country to see! What an achievement! Did you know that baking and cooking is a great way to practise lots of scientific and mathematical skills such as estimating, measuring, observing, investigating and experimenting, predicting, planning, making and problem solving?

Cairde 3 & Ms McDonnell's Social skills Lego group
Ms.McDonnell's 4th and 5th class have been using Beebots to further their learning. BeeBots are small robots that the children code themselves. Pupils worked in groups to come up with coding activities to reinforce learning in music, art, Irish, Maths, STEM, problem solving. Our next plan is to create activities for the infant classes to complete.
