First Communion 13th May 2017
Saturday last marked a very important day in our school year as we celebrated 1st Holy Communion in our parish, school and community.
Nineteen pupils from our school received the sacrament in St. Bartholomew's Church in the company of their families and friends.
We thank Fr. Kelleher for the lovely ceremony and his work with the children leading up to their special day. Mr. Sheils and Ms. Reilly prepared the children for the sacrament and each child did their part so well on the day - thank you to both teachers. The choir was prepared by Ms. White Lynch and they sang beautifully on the gallery - thank you Ms. White Lynch. A very special word of thanks to Geraldine and Maureen for all their help.
After the ceremony everybody was invited back to the school for a reception which was beautifully prepared by the parents of last years holy communion class. A special presentation was made by the parents association to Mr. Sheils, Ms. Reilly
and Ms. White Lynch - thank you to all concerned.
In conclusion, our celebration on Saturday is an example of school, parish and community cooperation and we hope it was an enjoyable day for everybody.
